Meghranjani Medhi is a celebrated artist of Kathak Dance, the daughter of renowned Kathak exponent Guru Marami Medhi and renowned vocalist Mr. Joyprakash Medhi of Assam, India. She has recently been awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, and she is the first one from Northeast India to receive this award in the field of Kathak. Recently, she has also received the prestigious national award 'Kala Sadhak' in the field of Kathak for the year 2025 by Guru Shri Shri Ravi Shankar.
Meghranjani started learning Kathak at the very tender age of 3 years under her mother and guru Marami Medhi and has completed 25 years of her dance journey. She was later trained under the legendary Late Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj Ji. She is a graded artist of Delhi Doordarshan and an empaneled artist of ICCR, Ministry of Culture. She has received various scholarships from the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. She is a Gold Medalist for 5 years in Dance under Gauhati University.
She has been awarded many reputed awards in this field. Meghranjani has performed at many prestigious national and international festivals in places like Delhi, Mumbai, Khajuraho, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Bhopal, Canada, Egypt, Israel, Palestine, UAE, New Zealand, China, the UK, Bangladesh, and the USA (California, Texas, DC), etc.
Meghranjani is also a well-known name in the fields of acting and fashion. She is a popular actor in the Jollywood industry. Her performances in many video films, cinema, music videos, and TV commercials were super hits.
