About this Event
ASATTCI is proud to present our new self-suffiency skill-building workshop series! Join us on the 4th Tuesday of every month (5th this month) for a free opportunity to gain life skills in the spirit of mutual aid and community-building.
This month's workshop, No-Shame Nutrition, will engage our community in discussion on how to have nutritious foods without shame in preferences, income, and cooking ability. Brosnan Rhodes will teach us how to develop healthy eating habits through a lens that honors the reality of food insecurity, cultural differences, and Health at Every Size. Attendees will feel more comfortable to pursue healthier habits without the stress and judgment of the modern food and nutrition culture popularized on social media.
About our presenter: Brosnan has been a Registered Dietitian for 5 years, but as the child of a chef, he has a storied background in food and nutrition starting from childhood. Brosnan studied as a non-traditional student at Sac State, earning a BS in Dietetics, and interned at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He has taught "eating on a budget" classes at the Sac Co-Op, has worked as a dietitian to inmate-patients in a correctional facility, and currently works with physical rehabilitation patients through UC Davis medical and Rehab Without Walls.
This event is free! To support this event beyond attending, you can choose the "help cover costs" add-on to help the store or you can donate to our nonprofit by texting ASATTCI to 44-321.
