We are excited to announce Art Therapy Place is hosting a 6-week Art Therapy Group series for Women with a focus on Self-love and Acceptance. The group is CBT and DBT-informed and is tailored to the needs of adult women.Art Therapy Place groups are inclusive, and groups include all women who believe this group meets their specific needs.The group will be held in-person, May 1st-June 5th, each Wednesday, 7-8:15 at Art Therapy Place located in Bushwick. Participants:The group is addressed to meet the needs of women 18+ who suffer from anxiety, depression, mood disorder, self-esteem issues, interpersonal, vocational and personal identity conflicts. Group members will be open to use creativity and the group process to express and challenge barriers to their need for self-love and acceptance.
Group Process:Our Self-love and Acceptance Women's group will be facilitated by Art Therapy Place group and individual Art Therapist Isabel Beckenstein, MA, LCAT-LP. Isabel's Profile
Through guided art directives and supportive group discussion, the group will examine and express ways to love, honor, and care for themselves.Isabel has tailored a unique series of art directives with a focus on self-love, compassion, acceptance and self-esteem. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques will be incorporated to address mental health needs and engage group members in creative exercises to balance conflicted thoughts, regulate emotions, practice mindfulness, self-soothing and self-validation.
Cost: $50/session; $300/series
*Participants must attend all groups.*
(Clients can pay-as-they-go at $50/session with a credit card on file)*
*Some low-fee options available on a limited basis for ongoing group sessions.
