Discover real objects that have either a specific connection to the stories of the Star Wars Universe or a more general one. Explore a galaxy "far-far away" and probably one or two closer ones. Together we will look at some real exoplanets that are somewhat like the planets Tatooine, Yavin and Dagoba that may be familiar to Star Wars fans. We'll also have a look at other Star Wars phenomena that may not exactly match up with scientists' current understanding of how the Universe really works. Fun, it will be!
After the presentation, if skies are clear, we will head outside for a laser-guided tour of the constellations and amazing views through the telescopes provided by the Windsor Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. It should be a great night for the whole family!
