Self-Defense for Women in Midlife and Beyond

This workshop is a reminder to be aware of your surroundings, build habits that keep you safe, and that you are more of a badass than you realize!

In these 90 minutes, you learn realistic self-defense skills, safety tips you can practice daily, and how to de-escalate tense moments and set clear boundaries.

Our instructor, Jade Hwang, AKA Master Jade, is a Taekwon-Do master and the owner of KBX PHX. She is dedicated to equipping women with essential skills to protect themselves and grow their self-confidence.

This is a private class (NOT a workout) held exclusively for our group of women in midlife and beyond. All physical fitness levels are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Respectfully, I do my best to provide a safe and welcoming environment where sensitive issues related to the transformational season of midlife and beyond may be discussed. This event is for women in midlife and beyond - including cisgender women, trans women, and nonbinary individuals - who are navigating life transitions such as aging, perimenopause, menopause, hormonal changes, and empty nesting.

Learn while boosting your self-confidence and self-efficacy in a safe space for women in midlife and beyond.

PLEASE NOTE: This event may include sensitive or triggering content, depending on the group conversation and what women are comfortable sharing.

Waivers are required for each participant. A link to complete a waiver online is included in your confirmation email when you register.

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Shoes are not allowed on the mat, so plan to go barefoot or wear socks with some grip on the bottom to prevent slipping. Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated (only water is allowed on the mat).

This event is at KBX PHX in North Tempe (Scottsdale Rd. & McKellips). Pre-registration and payment of the event fee are required to attend. KBX PHX will require a separate waiver on the day of the event.

Registration deadline is Thursday, September 25th by 9:00am AZ Time.

This event is $30 plus fees. Register before September 14th to save $5.
