Seismic State hit the stage for the first time in 2025, and this is one not to be missed. Bringing their upbeat blues/funk infused alternative rock to Wellington’s Underworld Tavern, they will be joined by fellow Wellingtonians Electric Tapestry and Intercite.
Bring your dancing shoes for a night of good vibes and partying.
R18 event, with tickets available at Under The Radar ($10 + booking fee) or at the door ($15 cash).
Seismic State are; Sai (guitar), Liam (bass), Matthijs (drums), and Rogina (vocals & guitar).
In June 2021 they supported Auckland rockers, and Aotearoa Music Award winners, Dead Favours on their Riffing and Yelling tour. This was followed by inclusion in the lineup of Bayrock 2022 alongside legends Head Like a Hole, Stellar*, Zed, and Push Push, however the impact of covid restrictions caused the festival to be cancelled.
2024 was been a big year for Seismic State, releasing blues influenced 2 Homes and hard rock banger Blinded By The Sun (which has become their most streamed track). 2025 looks set for even bigger tremors!
Their style mixes rock with elements of blues, funk, progressive and alternative - they combine riff-oriented guitar with melodic basslines and driving drum rhythms forming a foundation for creative vocal melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. The result is an accessible and sonically pleasing bland of music not often found in the rock scene.

Electric Tapestry
Electric Tapestry is a space rock dish of creamy psychedelia, metal chunks with a pop topping.
Some people have said we're heavy indie pop; others have said we're metallic yacht rock with a touch of psychedelia - others didn't answer the survey and just danced.

Intercite
Originating from the Kapiti coast, Intercite is an alternative rock band made up of 4 members. Saren O’Sullivan (guitar/vocals), Tom Curtis (lead guitar), Joe Sharrock (bass) and Rhiley Stevens (drums). The band take inspiration from bands including: Tool, Deftones, silverchair and more. Which some say you can hear in their music. Intercite love performing live and love bringing energy to any live show!
They also really love fish n chips.
