WE ARE HERE TO HELP!
Please ask questions at the qualifiers, we want you to learn, improve and get your golden ticket.
We are so fortunate to have the most amazing team that are all invested in giving you the best time and helping you to fulfil your ambitions.
To compete at National championships doesn’t just involve having a horse of a particular ‘type’ it must be correct and give a ride appropriate to the class in which it is competing. This takes time and knowledge. The SEIB judges are delighted to help by providing feedback for competitors to improve and LEARN. So many times, over the years, competitors have taken on board the advice and yes, sometimes criticism, have gone away and worked on what they have been told and we are all so delighted when they get their golden ticket.
Some lovely feedback from one of our competitors at Vale View.
“I was lucky enough to spend 15 minutes or so getting some feedback and Mr Ramsay and I can honestly say it was invaluable to me. I cannot wait to see you all again at Equifest”.
If at any time you feel uncomfortable or are a bit shy, please come and talk to the organisers on the day.
Just remember when asking for help:
1. *Politeness and Respect*: When asking for feedback, approach judges with respect and courtesy. A positive attitude opens the door for constructive and helpful insights.
2. *Understanding Judgements*: Remember, judges are there to provide an objective assessment. If the result isn’t what you hoped for, it’s not a personal attack. Use it as a learning opportunity.
3. *Feedback, Not Confrontation*: If you disagree with a judge's decision, that's okay. But it's never acceptable to verbally attack or disrespect them. Engage in a polite conversation to understand their perspective.
4. *Positive Communication*: Let’s maintain an environment of positivity and support. Feedback should be a tool for growth, not a source of conflict. By approaching feedback with manners and an open mind, we can all contribute to a more encouraging and productive show experience. Let's lift each other up and keep the community spirit alive!
I hope to see you at future qualifiers, have the best time and if you need help, please just ask! Not everyone can win every time, but gosh does it feel good if you have worked hard and your dreams come true.
