To celebrate the borough of Sefton turning 50 this year, we are holding one off volunteering taster sessions across Sefton to give back to the local community.On Wednesday 6th November we will be volunteering at Liverpool Road Methodist Church with Birkdale Community Hub and Library.
Birkdale Community Hub and Library is based at the old Stationmaster's house next to Birkdale train station and run entirely by volunteers. As well as a community library, the team run a number of social activities for local people to attend. The group have storage at Liverpool Road Methodist Church and are planning on expanding their community offer by adding new groups such as a workshop.
We are going to be helping them making the front garden area of the church into a beautiful flower area. This will include clearing, weeding, brushing and planting hundreds of bulbs. You can come for the whole day, 10am-3pm or you can come for a few hours.
All equipment will be provided along with t shirts and hi vis. You should wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty , comfy shoes and warm waterproof clothes with layers. You may bring a packed lunch or buy from nearby shops. Refreshments are provided.
