Welcome to "Seeing Rev. Pauli Murray Through the Eyes and Heart of Her Niece" event! Join us on Sat Jun 29 2024 at 3:00pm at All Saints Episcopal Church in Indianapolis. Get ready to dive into the life of Rev. Pauli Murray through the personal perspective of her niece. It's going to be an insightful and heartwarming experience. You will leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the wisdom, the struggles, the strength, and the perseverance of this woman of deep faith who overcame societal obstacles and prejudices to accomplish so much in a single lifetime. Come meet, on a personal level through her niece, the woman lawyer, civil rights advisor, confidant to Eleanor Roosevelt, poet, writer, and first black woman Episcopal priest.
Ms Rosita Stevens-Holsey will share her recollections of her Aunt Pauli at 3pm in the sanctuary of All Saints. At 4pm, there will be a liturgy celebrating the gifts of Rev. Pauli to us all. Our presider will be Bishop Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows, the Bishop of the Diocese of Indianapolis. After the liturgy, all are welcome to a reception honoring Ms. Rosita.
Ujamaa Bookstore will be the vendor at the event and will offer Ms. Rosita's children's book about Rev. Pauli. Ujamaa will also have the poetry, autobiography, and other writings of Rev. Pauli Murray for sale.
