About this Event
Cuori Liberi (Free hearts)
Join us for a heartwarming event at the Advanced Research Centre, University of Glasgow.
In Cuori Liberi, the lives of Crosta, Crusca, Pumba, Dorothy, Mercoledi', Bartolomeo, Ursula, Carolina and Spino, nine pigs from a sanctuary in Italy are commemorated by their human family and thousands of activists, many who had gathered around their home to try prevent their killing because of culling policies. This event started a legal discussion on animal rights and culling in the country.
Cuori Liberi is an Italian documentary whic has reached popularity and raised ethical questions on our relations with animals and their protection. This is the first screening of this documentary in the UK and its screening has been gifted to the University of Glasgow by the director. This screening will be followed by a remote interview with the director and a discussion/ FAQs with researchers working on human-animal relations.
This event has been organised by Dr Leyla De Amicis (School of Education) and Dr Jamie Redgate (School af Arts and Humanities), with the collaboration of StOMAC, CinemARC, and the School of Education at the University of Glasgow. We believe this free event will enrich your soul so we hope to see you there!
