Come experience the fun of seed swapping at Rockwall County’s first annual community-wide National Seed Swap Day Event. All are welcome! Have questions? Keep reading . . . Question: How do I need to package my seeds?
Answer: Package your seeds anyway you like, ziplock, envelope, in bulk or packaged individually, with or without instructions. You can even swap store bought seeds. We will have extra envelopes and ziplock bags for handling swapping from bulk packaging. We will also have a handout that will give attendees directions on how to find research based seed sowing info for seeds that are left without instructions. How you package your seeds is entirely up to you.
Question: How does it work?
Answer: The large meeting room at the library will have their tables set up on a large U, just like they set up for their puzzle exchange. You'll bring your seeds in, place them on a table then you'll browse for seeds you want to take with you. You never know what you might go home with and that is what makes it so fun!
Question: Is there a strict leave one take one rule?
Answer: We will not be strict about keeping it one for one, unless we see serious hoarding activity😆. We want to cultivate excitement and will let the swapping flow however it will flow.
Question: Do I take my seeds with me when I leave?
Answer: Please leave some or all of your seeds for the people that come after you. Whatever is left behind will be put to good use, either at the Farmers Market, Library, or any of our other events.
