The Isle of Man's BEST gardening event of the year is back! Bring your spare and unwanted seeds, seedlings, and plants to share, and take home new ones! This system helps reduce waste, saves money, and gets you set up for the gardening year 🙌This year’s Seed Swap & Plant Share will be on Sunday, April 6th, 2025, from 12-2 pm at the Working Men's Institute in Laxey.
The event will take place over both floors, so it will be roomy for seed sharing with tables and chairs to rest at and enjoy cakes and warm drinks. There is handicapped access through the back and an elevator for less-abled people to use.
HOW IT WORKS
🌷On the day, bring your extra/unwanted seeds, seedlings, and plants, and organise them into the provided tubs/areas. Afterward, take what you need from the same areas. No bartering or bantering with others is required.
🌱If you take more than you brought or don't have anything to share, we recommend leaving a donation.
🎁The seed swap is an event that supports the Laxey and Douglas allotments and a charity. There are donation tubs provided, but we also have a garden-themed raffle. Please support the event by purchasing tickets and/or bringing new gardening items as prizes. Please do not bring used books as raffle prizes, thanks.
📗 Used and in good condition gardening books, tools, and other items can be brought to the event to give away. It’s a great excuse to clean out the garden shed.
👛Entrance is £1 per adult (children are free), and gardening enthusiasts across the Isle of Man are invited to attend. It's a great way to pick up seeds inexpensively!
🚗 Parking is on the street in Laxey or at the Laxey Pavillion.

Hosted by Lovely Greens, the Laxey Allotment, and the Douglas Allotment, this is the most popular vegetable gardening event on the Isle of Man!
This is the event's 14th year running, and each year, hundreds of seed packets and plants are shared among the attendees.
