To get the most out of your gardening dollar, you cannot beat starting vegetables, flowers and herbs from seed. Seed starting is easier than you think. Don’t be limited to the seed and plant selections offered in nurseries and big box stores, especially now that new information coming out states that the neonicotinoids used in large commercial propagation greenhouses is toxic to our honey bees. Grow what you want and need for your garden area and your vegetable and herb preferences. This is one of the few ways to guarantee that the food you are growing is healthy for you and safe for the environment. I will teach you how read seed packets and catalogues, when to start seeds and when and how to transplant, natural soil amendments and pest control. This is a hands on class. You will be starting some seeds to take home with you, and I will share my favorite resources."
