Grapevine trunk diseases (GTDs) are a major threat to vineyard longevity and profitability, but early detection and targeted management can make a big difference. Join Dr. Akif Eskalen for a hands-on workshop focused on practical identification and control of GTDs, including Sudden Vine Collapse and Aspergillus vine canker.
Growers are encouraged to bring their own vine samples—young or old vines, symptomatic plants, or pre-planting materials—for discussion and diagnostic insight. Dr. Eskalen will demonstrate how to recognize trunk disease symptoms in the field, interpret what you're seeing in the wood, and explain the latest science behind disease development and management.
Two small-group sessions will be held on April 30th, from 10:00–11:00 AM and 11:00–12:00 noon, each limited to 30 participants to maximize interaction and learning. This is a valuable opportunity for growers, vineyard managers, and PCAs looking to sharpen their disease detection and prevention skills.
