This year we are opening up some of our rooms that are not usually seen by our visitors.On this tour we will take you behind the scenes, you will explore the incredible Gothic Library designed by Sir John Soane, the beautiful Japan room and take a sneak-peek at some newly discovered eighteenth-century wall paintings! Join us to discover more of Stowe's fascinating history.
Stowe House is an architectural masterpiece. Once the home of a wealthy and politically influential family, the house was built to reflect the family's social and political ideals. These beliefs can still be viewed today through the architecture, interior decoration and art found within the house. The Stowe House Preservation Trust is continually working to restore, maintain and preserve this iconic site that has inspired artists, poets, and creative thinkers for generations.
