The key fine points of the 5 essential movements of the sword along with several practice drills for developing correct techniques for each. Special attention will be spent on the nukitsuke/noto (drawing and closing of the sword). Participants will learn how easy these two essential movements can be! Core kata from Muso Shinden-Ryu will be looked at, along with some common and not-so-common variations, from each of the three levels of the style. All materials presented will be based on the individual participant's skill level and permission of their instructor.
Thes instructor for the seminar will be Mr. Roger Wehrhahn, Shihan. Wehrhan Shihan, a Roku-Dan (Sixth-Degree Black Belt) in Muso Shinden-Ryu, is the chief instructor of both the North American San Shin Kai and Tatsu Ken Jutsu Kyokai. His Iaido teacher was Mr. Mitsuzuka Takeshi, Sensei (who taught Iaido worldwide and modeled Seiteigata in Gordon Warner and Donn Draeger's well-known book, Japanese Swordsmanship). Wehrhan Shihan has trained in the martial arts since 1969 and, in addition to his recognition in Iaido, also has high-level dan (Black Belt) grades in Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate-Do, Kobayashi Shorin-Ryu Karate-Do & Ryukyu Kobudo.
Training is both in-person and live-stream (via Zoom...primary registrants will receive a link to train via the live stream and all primary registrants will have access to raw recordings of each seminar they are registered for via Mountain Teachings!).

All registrations must happen via the links provided...we will not be accepting registrations at the door and all registrations must be complete before respective seminars occur!
Seminar attendees will need to wear a traditional training uniform (hakama/keikogi) and have the equipment to train in the seminars. All attendees MUST be age 13 & older (parent/legal guardian must complete registration for ages 13-17).
