Secret Society Comedy rewrites the narrative of open mic comedy with a fast-paced, high-energy show where anything goes!
Established in January 2022 at Judd's City Tavern, this show has packed that space from wall-to-wall on a weekly basis, and is moving to a newer, larger venue where the audience experience comes first: Pins & Needles at Mahall's.
This show started with Secret Society Comedy's David Horning and Bryan Sternik answering the question "How can we make open mics, the most painful but necessary part of stand-up comedy, fun for EVERYONE?"
The answer: 60 minute sets while David & Bryan keep the energy up and the audience engaged by egging on the performers, making light of bombed jokes, and letting comics know their time is up with a well-timed "One more joke."
From brand new comedians, to nationally touring headliners, to fantasy football losers, anyone can sign up to perform their best, worst, and newest 60 seconds of jokes. Each week, One More Joke favorites are handpicked by David and Bryan to perform 5-minute showcase spots so, if you become a regular, you'll be able to watch bits evolve and comedians grow from open micer to nationally touring professionals.
There’s no cover, the vibes are fun, the drinks are cheap, and chances are good the show will spiral into a shitshow. What more do you want from a Tuesday night out??
