This Secondary Leadership Community of Practice (COP) 2024 is focused on: 1. growing culturally sustainable change leadership in your middle leaders
2. supporting teams of leaders to implement change projects at your school
3. collaborating with other schools doing similar mahi.
This initiative would also support schools to address the priorities in Ka Hikitia Ka Hāpaitia and the many other initiatives that are impacting schools at present. Leaders will have the opportunity to supplement their professional growth cycles based on the Educational Leadership Capability Framework & Tū Rangatira to allow them to grow confidence and competence in their leadership.

This COP is designed for all levels of leadership within secondary schools in the Canterbury region (ie: SLT members, HOLA’s and HOF’s, Deans, project leads, Kāhui Ako leaders etc)
Each principal selects a team of 3-4 middle leaders supported by 1 senior leader to work on a project together aligned with the school’s annual plan.
Format:
1. Three x one day hui in 2024
Hui #1 Thursday 9th May 9.00-3.30 @ McFaddens Centre
Hui #2 Thursday 1st August 9.00-3.30 @ McFaddens Centre
Hui #3 Monday 25th November 9.00-3.30 @ McFaddens Centre
2. Principals liaise with their teams throughout the year, then join us over lunch at Hui#3 in Term 4 for a celebration of progress and impact.
3. 1:1 mentoring with principals available.
