The Second Tuesday Poetry Night is coming to The Half Moon, Felixstowe, this December and January!Usually hosted at the Black Horse Inn in Ipswich, this highly successful event is heading out on a little “winter tour” — and Felixstowe is the next stop.
Our first Poetry Night at the newly reopened Half Moon takes place on Tuesday, December 9th at 8pm. It’s an open-mic evening, welcoming anyone who’d like to listen, share their work, or take part in some relaxed storytelling.
The Half Moon now boasts a great selection of real ales, including fantastic Suffolk craft beers brewed just up the road in Trimley by our new landlord, Tim of Mr Bees Brewery. For Guinness fans… It’s just £5 a pint — the cheapest in town

Tim has done an incredible job bringing this much-loved historic pub back to life after it was nearly lost to redevelopment. Come along, support live poetry, enjoy a pint, and celebrate the return of a Felixstowe favourite.
