About this Event
On the Second Saturday of every month, we run themed family events. A revolving programme of family activities may have you heading into the Roman Amphitheatre and hearing tales of Roman conquests or creating crafts from the Victorian paintings surrounding you.
For our August, Second Saturday we bring you a special pop-up event in collaboration with the Museum of London with newly launched ‘Play Cycles’ - in the the Guildhall yard. Each Play Cycle is packed with an exciting range of activities. Come and see them in action and get creative with loose parts play, arts and crafts, games, expect to explore the senses through sound and create your own performances. We will also have our regular gallery-based craft activities and storytelling sessions.
11 am – 4 pm – Crafts activities – make some traditional Victorian inspired toys – Thaumatropes (early animation), Spinning tops and games
11.30 am – 11.50am and 2.30pm - 2.50pm – Storytelling
Includes a story corner with portable library, cushions, costumes, and soft play building bricks.
Plan to make a day of it - bring a picnic lunch to have in Guildhall Yard or eat nearby.
This event is for children aged 3-13 and their families. It is not suitable for individual adults. The activities are free, but booking is advised.
