About this Event
On the Second Saturday of every month, we run themed family events. A revolving programme of family activities may have you heading into the Roman Amphitheatre and hearing tales of Roman conquests, or creating crafts from the Victorian paintings surrounding you.
This coming Second Saturday 13 April inspired by our new exhibition Anne Desmet: Kaleidoscope/London take inspiration from Roman architecture to create your own kaleidoscopic artwork. Focusing on Roman London, Londinium, use our nets to create a 2D collage like or 3D Roman building. There will also be a chance to handle some genuine Roman artefacts and find out about life in the capital almost 2000 years ago.
11 am – 4 pm – Create your own kaleidoscopic Roman artwork
11.30 am – 12pm and 2.30pm - 3pm – Roman object handling
A story corner with soft cushions, costumes, and building bricks will also be available.
Plan to make a day of it - bring a picnic lunch to have in Guildhall Yard, or eat nearby.
This event is for children aged 3-13 and their families. It is not suitable for individual adults. The activities are free but booking is advised.
