Join Itsaso Iribarren, Germán de la Riva and Carin Jean White as they present their experiences creating "The Art of Walking"
About this Event

This collaborative conversation is brought to you by the School of Visual Philosophy and will feature the artists and researchers behind the successful interactive performance "The Art of Walking".

In this performative conference, Itsaso Iribarren, Germán de la Riva and Carin Jean White will present some of the creative tools with which they have used in their works. In 2020 they created “The Art of Walking”, where they traced and celebrated Artpark’s history, unique landscape and ecology, art and more. They connected with Niagara’s ancient past, engaged with the present & imagined the future. Since then they have continued developing methodologies to create art pieces while in remote countries; keeping the physical sensation of being together and using technology to maintain an open and active dialogue.

Carin Jean White will be present in person at Visual Philosophy to chat with Itsaso Iribarren and Germán de la Riva who will be tuning in via Zoom. Come witness this unique event happening for only one day in San Jose.

“Our work as artists and researchers consists of carefully and particularly examining a subject while keeping an open and intuitive look. It is a practice that enables us to discover and advance along unknown paths, always moving between possible risks and the need for adventure ”.

Registration is free but donations are happily accepted to fund future visiting artists.
