About Our Speakers:
Dr. Danielle Thordarson is a movement disorders neurologist originally from Camarillo, CA. She completed her undergraduate studies in Psychobiology at UCLA, where she developed a deep interest in the complexities of neurological diseases. Dr. Thordarson earned her MD from Rush Medical College in Chicago, followed by a neurology residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Following her residency, she pursued a fellowship in movement disorders at UCLA, where she developed specialized expertise in diagnosing and treating conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, and essential tremor. In fall of 2024, she will be joining the faculty at UCLA Movement Disorders where she will dedicate her time to clinical care, education, and clinical trials in Parkinson’s disease and ataxia.
Dr. Katy Cross is Assistant Professor in the Movement Disorders Program in the Department of Neurology. She completed her MD and PhD degrees at UCLA followed by clinical training in Neurology and Movement disorders, also at UCLA. With funding support from NIH and DoD, her lab examines the neural correlates and electrophysiological signatures of symptom heterogeneity in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, with a goal of developing biomarkers and treatments for improved neuromodulation therapies. She is a practicing Movement Disorders Neurologist with emphasis in deep brain stimulation.
