As part of Seaweek Timaru, our March Eco Talk is all about connecting with our moana. We’re excited to welcome three local speakers: Marijke Bakker from Penguins First Timaru, sharing insights into our local little blue penguins; Kennedy Lange from Environment Canterbury, speaking about tuna (eels); and Keely Kroening from the South Canterbury Museum, who will guide us through the incredible biodiversity of our local rocky shores. This is a not-to-be-missed event celebrating and exploring our local moana. We are also collaborating with our community to create a programme of events for Seaweek. This event is part of the South Canterbury Eco Centre’s monthly “Eco Talks”. During the first week of most months we aim to have a presenter, followed by supper. These sessions will be a minimum of $5 per person and can be booked via our website. If you would prefer to pay cash on the night, let us know as we appreciate knowing how many we are catering for – [email protected].
