About this Event
Welcome to the Seattle Out of the Darkness Community Walk!
The annual Seattle Out of the Darkness Community Walk, hosted by AFSP Washington will be held on Sunday, October 13th, 2024 at the Fisher Pavilion in Seattle Center. This walk supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) education and support programs and its bold goal to reduce the annual U.S. rate of suicide 20 percent by the year 2025.
The Out of the Darkness Walk is a celebration of community. It is a day of compassion, education, and shared commitment to preventing suicide as a way to honor those who have lost their lives and further support the friends, families, and survivors. Our goal is to bring our neighbors out of the darkness and provide equitable suicide prevention resources to all while raising money to support the mission of AFSP. We have arranged for food trucks, engaging activities, inspiring speakers, uplifting music, and more.
