SJN was created around the idea of exploring the musical flexibility and adventure that are possible when different configurations of musicians come together. Jazz and its improvisational forms is uniquely adaptable to being played by groups of different sizes, and SJN's members arrange and play a variety of music in a number of possible instrumentations.
