About HAZY BAY . . .
Hazy Bay is an audio production company that offers a comprehensive suite of services to help artists, bands, directors, and producers bring their visions to life with exceptional music and sound. Our three-person team—Aaron Spieldenner, Paul Davis, and Sean Dwyer—grew up together in South Seattle and have been immersed in the region’s music scene since our early high school days. In 2015, we joined forces to become business partners and form Hazy Bay. Starting with a modest recording studio setup in South Park with affordable rates, we opened our doors for local bands and indie filmmakers.
As our interest in film, music, and sound grew, we expanded our services to collaborate with directors and producers on scoring films, creating sound design, and mixing audio for various projects, such as documentaries, video games, commercials, and short and feature-length films. Today, we operate in multiple capacities, providing production services for bands, film sound production, and an internal catalogue of music and sound effects for licensing.
We’re focused on creating an accessible and welcoming space that allows artists’ creativity to flourish. Oftentimes, walking into a studio can feel like stepping into a laboratory where people feel uncomfortable touching the equipment or instruments. Over the last decade, we’ve strived to create a comfortable and inspiring studio.
Working with other creatives in the city has always been important to us, and is something we are constantly looking to expand. Since our founding, we’ve partnered with up-and-coming artists and local creatives, including our work with Sonic Sofa, an in-studio video series of artist performances and interviews.
Post-production audio, film scoring, licensing, editing, ads, special FX—our list of services and expertise goes on. Whatever sound you’re looking for, it’s right here.
