Seatown and Golden Cap | Dorset | 11km hike (Women only)

Join us for an exhilarating hike to Golden Cap, the highest point on the South Coast. Our journey begins at Seatown, where we'll head inland, traversing the scenic rolling hills of Dorset towards Chardown Hill and Stonebarrow Hill. From there, we'll join the renowned South West Coast Path for the challenging ascent to the summit of Golden Cap, but don't worry we will take it nice and slow! At the top, we'll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the Dorset coastline, perfect for those memorable trig point selfies. After soaking in the breathtaking scenery, we'll make our way back down to Seatown, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea and a well-deserved drink at the local pub before heading home.

Terrain: Coastal cliff paths, rocky beach, steep steps to walk up and down, grassy paths

Transport:

By Car: We'll meet at Seatown car park which is easily found on Google maps. The Car Park is £8 for the day and there is someone collecting payment (cash or card) at the entrance.

By public transport: Unfortunately this walk is not accessible via public transport, however you could get a train to a nearby station and ask someone to come and collect you en-route.

Liftshare: It would be great to liftshare as much as possible, if you need a lift or can offer someone a lift please post in the lift share WhatsApp group here.

What to bring:

• Hiking boots or trainers with good grip
• Plenty of snacks and a packed lunch
• Water (at least 1 litre)
• Waterproofs / warm layer
• Sunhat / Suncream
• Small first aid kit with personal Medic*tion
• A day rucksack to put water, lunch and layers in.
• Swimsuit and towel (if you want to swim!)

Consent Form:

If you are booked onto the hike please fill in one of these forms no later than the night before. You will not be allowed to partake in the hike unless you have filled out this form. I will send out a reminder 2 days before the event.

Toilets:

There are toilets at the start of this hike but apart from that you will have to embrace what I like to call a 'wild wee'! If you need to go, just tell someone in the group and hang back for some privacy.

Safety:

I like to make these hikes as enjoyable as possible for everyone, so I keep a slow and steady pace. It's about taking in the views and being in nature, not about rushing to the finish line. Having said that, you are responsible for your own health and safety. If you are unsure as to whether you are fit to come on these hikes, please either consult your doctor or let me know your concerns.

I am a Qualified Mountain Leader and I am level 3 Outdoor First Aid trained so I will be on hand in case of an emergency.

Dogs:

Well behaved dogs are allowed on my walks, however I cannot guarantee that all stiles are dog friendly. Dogs will need to go on leads when walking through livestock or near roads.

Refund Policy

Refunds will only be given if the event is cancelled. If you can no longer attend you are more than welcome to sell your ticket to someone else but please let me know if you do so.
