SEASONS - Thinking Forward - Preparing Our Urban Garden
A Winter Workshop + Community Muck in
We would love you to join us for our first session of SEASONS - part of a long term series of Resillient Urban Gardening workshops and activities taking place from What if? - a new community space and emerging ideas collective based in the Hollywood Park area of Edgeley in Stockport. A place open to all our neighbours to help shape for the future. Join us!
Our Winter Workshop + Muck In begins at the Curious Garden - a recently rediscovered magical urban garden space in Stockport and hopes to spark your green fingered creativity and help us plan for the future seasons.
Get ready to Think Forward and set our intentions for the seasons ahead.
About the Session
We will be thinking forward to the Spring and planting up the garden with woodland bulbs and seeds native to the UK.
Come along and learn how to prepare a seed bed, plant bulbs and how to use garden waste to fill raised garden beds.
We will take a foraging walk around Hollywood Park to collect fallen branches and leaves to bulk out the raised beds and then will be calling for all hands on deck to wheelbarrow compost into the bed.
Then will be time to plant up the bed with bulbs, hardy evergreen shrubs and seeds.
We’ll finish off with a hot brew and a shared hot lunch.
Suitable for young people (12 + accompanied with adults) and adults of all abilities
Wear warm clothes, long sleeves and prepare for rain.
We have some hardy boots to loan if you need them.
Come and muck in at the Curious Garden at What If? Stockport on Saturday the 30 th
November from 10am-2pm. Lunch and hot drinks will be included.
Spaces are limited so we ask that if you sign up you turn up please. (or cancel if somethig else crops up - pardon the pun!) Thank you.
