Seasoning returns for it's final rave of 2024 with the third installment of our now legendary winter party... and our biggest yet.It's no-holds-barred for this one as we push our curation to the next level and give Stroud a two-handed push into the future of rave music with 3-deck magician MJK working his magic magic for 2 hours. Since the formation of Seasoning we have always tried to think seriously about rave music and what it means for our community - MJK is one of those who have put solutions forward to the deadening of the scene by reconnecting grime with the 140 roots it was separated from by the twin forces of criminalisation and commercialisation with blends through hard techno, baile, and harder rhythms to boot.
Rishi's work across the scene has left the impression he may have a midas touch, having platformed some of the most well-regarded, well attended, and experimental raves in the country under his no_one moniker, he's invited the likes of DjRUM, Teki Latex, and Om Unit to his shows while UK and EU tours for Interplanetary Criminal and Neffa T. As one half of Brown Excellence, he's pushed the limits to champion the music from - and deconstruct stereotypes of - music from South and West Asia putting forward a global articulation of Rave charged bass music.
Kincaid joins Berwick for a special and much-anticipated b2b - both have pushed forward future thinking takes that bring electro stylings and swamped-out post-dubstep/new bass into conversation with one another. Having both released on Pressure Dome's Compilation - touted as an album of the year by Mixmag - this meeting couldn't come sooner as we prepare for mind-bending selections from two of the UK's finest new talents in production.
Lovellious has been with Seasoning from Day 0 - those of you who know Louis know he has had a frenetic attention to detail, groove and soul in his productions grom his recent work on ec2a, to earlier DnB infused productions. Having spent the last few months in Colombia researching the origins of what the West, somewhat seductively, refers to as 'latin club' at the Museo Casa de la Memoria in Medellin - Lovellious has been exploring the deep social origins of Guaracha music in COlombia's afro-latin communities and queer communities and coming back with a collection of stunning archival selections and some collaborations that feel like a flash from the future akin to the shock of house music first landing in the sepia-toned cultural scene of '80s Britain. This set is not one to miss.
Amelie has been one of Stroud's most distinctive new selectors to come through for a generation - sharing Lovellious's inclination towards soulful cuts her sets are normally arranged with high NRG blinders that crowds find magnetic - littered as they are with pumping fists and sweat-drenched brows. Refined selections and high-calibre vibes - the rest will come to be known between two stacks of paraflex finesse.
Now, about the soundsystem: We've had sound systems visit town for our events in the past, but some collaborations are best cooked with time. Bassfreight are visiting from Sheffield with 12kW of the finest paraflex that money can buy... insane audio reproduction and an intensity of sound that has been unrivaled by other cab designs... delivered by a stunning crew of ravers first met at our Papa Nugs rave via dear friend of Seasoning, Berwick. Gassed doesn't event begin to tell you how we're feeling for this one. Actually... a little nervous!
