Gather round the campfire this Autumn, to embrace the season, with a good old sing!
The latest in a series of ‘Seasonal Songs’ sessions to connect with the earth, the seasons, and a sense of community. All voices welcome – the emphasis is on fun and free expression in the great outdoors, rather than vocal accuracy!
Why?
In this modern world we have become disconnected from nature, and the rhythms of the year, and many of us lack a sense of community. Our lives can feel constantly busy, right through the winter, when much of the living world is dormant - depleting our energy to enjoy the more fruitful expressive times. However, we can choose to reclaim a more balanced and reconnected way of life, in touch with the seasons and each other, and a good old sing in the great outdoors is a particularly joyful way of doing it!
For this session we will be celebrating the Autumn, an opportunity to step back, reflect, and reconnect, before the winter to come. Many of us find the transition into the darker months of the year difficult. This is an invitation to reframe it and perhaps even embrace what this quieter time has to offer, and fuel our inner fires to see us through!
What will happen?
We will meet just before dusk on the wildish edges of Ulverston for an exciting evening of...
Singing songs to suit the season – Songs of release, as the trees drop their leaves! Songs of sunsets, and fire!
Time to tune into the land and our senses, check in with ourselves and reflect on life
Experience a short ceremony around the campfire to shed what no longer serves us, welcome new growth, and a strengthening of our roots and inner wisdom. The ceremony will be simple, and as playful or serious as the group wish to make it - no need to share your inner processes outwardly :-)
Enjoy a warming brew and some tasty snacks!
We will meet at the community veg garden on Urswick Road, Ulverston, and aim to be outdoors for the whole session, but there is a large cabin with woodburner to use in case of inclement weather. (NB. This is a rustic site, the toilet facility is compost loo in a shed - a surprisingly civilised experience!).
BOOKING ESSENTIAL, PLACES LIMITED :-)
Early bird tickets available until October 13th.

Treat yourself to something real and earthy this Autumn! Some time out of busy life for some fun, contemplation and connection. I look forward to gathering with you for a grounding and joyful time!

ABOUT YOUR HOST
Amy is an experienced environmental and creative facilitator, musician and songwriter. Through ‘Playful Nature’ she supports people to connect with their instinctive, playful selves, with each other, and the living earth… to nurture health and happiness and bring a sense of wholeness and presence to our lives. Amy has been delighting in making music for years – in drum circles, singing groups, writing songs and playing in bands. She is passionate about supporting others to sing from the soul, enjoy their voice, and unleash the creative life force that flows through us all, even if it feels deeply buried! Here's what people have said about Amy's work:
“Just to say that I very much enjoyed the Solstice get together last Saturday.. Thank you for organising it and running it so beautifully. You have a very nice light touch - clear with your teaching of the songs, inclusive and encouraging of everyone in the group - and it was a really nice selection of songs. You're a very talented, natural group facilitator expressing much joy in what you offer through your gifts of music and song.”

“Beautifully held, fun, relaxing, funny”
“Expressive, liberating”
“I felt very safe. You are so good at creating safety through your acceptance of all folks and contributions”
“I was pretty scared to come to this event, as I have been told that I can’t sing, so tend to avoid singing with other people. But I booked the event because I would like to have more confidence in my singing. I’m really pleased that I booked it and I’d encourage anyone who isn’t confident in their singing, but would still like to have a go, to be brave and listen to the part of you that wants to do it - not the critical part that is telling you why you shouldn’t. It was a lovely group of people and I felt very comfortable not singing bits if it was too much or I forgot the words – and I know I could have sat out for some if I needed to. I was hesitant to the end about going but I’m so glad I went!”
