To celebrate mental health awareness week Join our seasonal meditation with guest teacher and yogi Donna Roy.
A meditation to celebrate the change of season. Drawing from different cultural and religious traditions, we will be looking at some of the gods and goddesses of Spring from around the world.
With a focus on the solar plexus (yellow) and heart (green) chakras, the
meditation will be a journey of rebirth, creativity, self-esteem and
forgiveness. This is an opportunity to nurture yourself amidst the beauty and colours of Spring.
Donna Roy is a self-employed healer, therapist and meditation teacher based in Christchurch. Graduating MA in Religious Studies from Otago University earlier this year.
Donna is interested in the use of ritual in our lives and in women’s expressions of faith. She has two adult daughters and is Nonna to five grandchildren. She reads extensively, enjoys overseas travel and yoga. She will be travelling to India in January next year. Donna says:
In New Zealand we have four defined seasons and I believe each season has unique themes to celebrate. The season of Spring welcomes beauty back to the earth after Winter.
It is an opportunity to nurture ourselves as the days lengthen and we start to experience warmer temperatures. Having a specific meditation to welcome each season gives us a focus for that season and allows us to enjoy it more consciously.
