The Intercultural Dialogue Institute (IDI) Ottawa and the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) warmly invite you to join us for a special evening celebrating Belonging, Dialogue, and Community Spirit this holiday season. In partnership with the Gifts In Kind, this event is a crucial opportunity to strengthen the bonds of trust and understanding that form the foundation of a safe, inclusive Ottawa.
As we gather to reflect on the year, we aim to create a space where neighbours from all cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds feel seen, valued, and connected to one another and to the services that support them. Come share in the warmth of the season and engage in meaningful, community-building conversation.
Community Dialogue & Shared Stories
This is more than just a holiday party—it's a commitment to community collaboration. Engage directly with leaders from the Ottawa Police Service and the IDI on the importance of trust and mutual understanding. The evening will feature interactive dialogue sessions focused on how we can collectively reduce social isolation and enhance neighbourhood safety.
Spotlight on Intercultural Success
We will feature a brief presentation highlighting the impact of IDI's flagship initiative, Meet Your Neighbour. Learn how this program successfully bridged cultural divides and empowered neighbours to dialogue with each other this past summer and find out how you can get involved in upcoming 2026 initiatives to bring dialogue directly to your block.
Meet the Partners
This is a chance to connect face-to-face with representatives from the three host organizations:
- Ottawa Police Service: Dedicated to building stronger relationships between officers and the diverse communities they serve.
- Intercultural Dialogue Institute (IDI) Ottawa: Committed to fostering cross-cultural conversation and understanding.
- Gifts In Kind: A caring community organization where surplus goods and services are purposefully used to reduce poverty and eliminate inequality.
Everyone is welcome!
We look forward to celebrating the spirit of belonging with you!
