About this Event
Join me in gathering as a community to honor the elements, the seasons, ourselves, each other, and this precious life through the sacred medicine of ceremonial cacao. Rooted in the wisdom of the Maya Tz’utujil, whose ancestors have carried the fire, the cacao, and the cosmic calendar since time immemorial...we come together in reverence for the original guardians of this medicine and the lands from which it comes.
Together we will enter a field of connection through (non-denominational) prayer and meditation, song, dialogue, and inner reflection...each of us bringing our intentions forward in a heart-centered, solutions-based way.
For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples of Central and South America have used cacao for healing, celebration, and ceremony. The scientific name for cacao, Theobroma cacao, means “Food of the Gods,” a reminder of cacao’s origin story as a gift sent from the heavens for the nourishment of humanity.
This ceremony will honor the Winter Solstice, the longest night, the sacred hinge between death and rebirth, when nature’s deep silence renews the soul. It is the moment when the sun begins its slow return to the Earth, inviting us into regeneration, reflection, and inner illumination.
We will also honor the energy of Wuqu’ Q’Anil (7 Q’Anil) on the Mayan calendar an auspicious day of seed, fertility, creativity, and the blossoming of what has been gestating in the dark. The number 7 brings the energy of reflection and integration; combined with Q’Anil, it helps us look at the seeds we carry... ancestral, personal, communal and discern which ones are ready to be planted, nourished, or released back to Spirit.
Cacao is gentle, yet profoundly powerful medicine. When received intentionally and in ceremony, it softens the places where our hearts have contracted and releases the subtle energetic barriers we build against ourselves and others. Cacao opens the doorway to consciousness, inviting us back to our inner truth, our breath, and our shared humanity.
Join me as we move through body, mind, and spirit, creating higher frequencies of love, presence, and connection.
I look forward to sharing this healing journey with you and honoring the sacred wisdom of cacao, of the Maya Tz’utujil, and of this powerful moment in the turning of the seasons.
