Seance Poetry Workshop with Rissa Miller

Step into a space of spectral inspiration. In this immersive creative writing workshop, we’ll explore poetry as a form of channeling. drawing on the tools and atmosphere of a séance to invite in voices from the other side, the subconscious, or the forgotten corners of memory.
You’ll engage in guided exercises inspired by automatic writing, spirit boards, and historical séances. Together, we’ll summon language that drifts in like smoke and resonates with a chill down the spine.
Whether you're a seasoned poet or curious beginner, this experience invites you to write with intuition, courage, and curiosity. No experience with séances or poetry required, only openness and willingness to listen to what the silence might say.
Bring pen, paper (or your digital equivalent), and all your curiosity for this interactive literary workshop. Suggested for guests ages 13 and above, though you know your young writer best; all writing and experience levels are welcome. Reading aloud/sharing is not required. Spirit communication is not guaranteed.
Workshop will be taught by published author/poetess Rissa Miller, a Serpent's Key regular. Rissa has been writing her entire life and her first story was published in a childrens' anthology when she was age 7. Rissa has worked as a Literary Coordinator at Baltimore's Poe House Museum, was an editor at The Baltimore Sun, and was formerly a Vice Pres in the Maryland Writers Association. It is her deep belief that words have the power to change the world.
