Sean Shibe and Dunedin Consort dive into the archives of the National Library of Scotland to explore the musical riches in its collection, from Scottish psalms to music for viol by Marin Marais, and a uniquely Scottish version of John Dowland’s Lachrimae, or Seaven Teares. Sean takes to his lute with a handful of string players to guide us through a cosmopolitan, voracious, and richly-varied musical landscape at the turn of the seventeenth century. Pre-concert talk at 6.30pm
