About this Event
- View hundreds of northern elephant seals at the peak of the breeding season
- Spend over three hours in the preserve enjoying the trails and premier elephant seal viewing areas at your own pace.
- Consult with the team of volunteer naturalists and California State Park interpreters and rangers who will be stationed throughout the preserve to safely direct you through the dunes to the best viewing areas, interpret the colony drama unfolding on the beach, and answer any questions you might have about the seals and the park
- Parking fee is included
Choose one of four half day options to fit your schedule:
- 8:30 AM - 12 PM Saturday
- 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM Saturday
- 8:30 AM - 12 PM Sunday
- 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM Sunday
Each session has a limited number of registrations. (We are limited due to volunteer docents and park staff being stationed out where the seals are so everyone has room to navigate around the colony.)

Seal Adventures is a fundraising event hosted by Coastside State Parks Association (CSPA), which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and official California State Parks Cooperating Association. Money from ticket sales will be used to support interpretive and educational programs and to fund improvements at Año Nuevo State Park and 14 other California State Parks on the San Mateo coast.
The Fair Market Value of each ticket is $25.50.
