Join Assistant Curator of Territory History, Paige Taylor, for a presentation about the Makassan visits to the Top End from the Hati Marege, the history of pearling from the Vivienne, Vietnamese ‘Boat People’ from the Thịnh Vượng and illegal shark fin fishing from the Tujuan.

This program will be held in the Theatrette.
Please sign in at the Registration Desk at the entrance to the Theatrette 15 minutes prior to the start of the program.
As part of our commitment to pest control and the protection of MAGNT Collections for future generations, no food or beverage can be consumed inside the Theatrette.
Please bring bottled water to remain hydrated but remember no other cold or hot beverages are allowed inside the Theatrette.
It can get cold inside the Theatrette so please be mindful of this and consider bringing a shawl or wearing long sleeves to maintain your comfort during the program.
If you plan on seeing the exhibition before or after the talk, please stow large backs and backpacks in a locker behind the Information Desk.
Large bags, backpacks, food and drink are not permitted inside MAGNT's gallery spaces.
