About this Event
Guidelines:
• The census involves taking one photo of each species of sea slug you find on the Census dates (24 (for the rocky shores only), 25 and 26 September 2021(including diving)).
• Each diver buddy pair, snorkeller & rock pooler should send in one photo for each species of sea slug they encounter on the Census dates. If you think you may have captured two species that look very similar, send in photos of both individuals.
• You don’t need to identify the sea slugs, just take their photos!
• Photos must be taken along the Gold Coast from South Stradbroke Island to Cook Island. Photos should be cropped around the sea slug and compressed in size to enable emailing, and submitted by email to [email protected] or uploaded to Gold Coast Sea Slug Survey on BioCollect by Saturday 2nd October 2021 before 8pm complete with completed entry form.
You can enter for prizes as part of a team or as an individual!
• Sea slug is defined as any headshield slug, sapsucking slug, seahare, sidegill slug and nudibranch. If unsure send photo anyway. Committee reserves the right to determine what is deemed as a Sea Slug.
• Ocean Connect Waiver Form to be completed and returned to the Gold Coast Sea Slug Census committee before commencement of the Census.
- Your registration also includes an invitation to the award ceremony and closing event on the 30th of October.
