Sea Of Bones (New Haven, CT funeral doom, Gilead Media) bring their suffocating brand of heaviness back to the DMV for the first time since 2019. Along with them they bring cult midwestern psych-doom favorites Before The Eyewall (Columbus OH).
Supporting them will be DMV doom scene stalwarts Foehammer in their first DC show of 2024, with an all-new lineup featuring Ben Proudman (Thonian Horde, Rhin, Black Blizzard, Vox Populi) on drums and Tim Reaper (Ampallang Infection, DUME) holding down the sub sonics.
A specter looms over the ever expanding suburbs of Washington, DC. A fetid, lumbering, lurching beast throws its shadow across the unending sprawl. That specter is Foehammer. Since 2013 Foehammer have held it down as stalwarts of the DMV metal scene with their funereal brand of doom-sludge. Whereas the self-titled e.p. and Second Sight were comprised of inexorably creeping funeral doom epics, newest LP Monumentum brings in new sounds and tempos. Fans of Corrupted’s dirge will undoubtedly still love Monumentum, but fans of Cianide’s deathly doom, the sludgy filth of early Thou, and the transcendental leanings of mid-90’s Neurosis will also find much to enjoy. With the recent additions of Ben Proudman (Thonian Horde, Rhin, Black Blizzard, Vox Populi) on drums and Tim Reaper (Ampallang Infection, DUME) holding down the pulverizing low end, Foehammer look forward to crushing audiences with an even more exacting and brutal take on their signature sound.
Foehammer has toured the East Coast, South, and Midwest, and shared the stage with the likes of Bell Witch, Bongzilla, Fister, Horrendous, Ilsa, Mortiferum, Outer Heaven, Primitive Man, Rezn, Sea of Bones, Unearthly Trance, Usnea, Weedeater, Yatra, and more.
