This visionary event channels a cultural legacy reaching back 100 years by bringing together international, national, and regional artists to perform at three unique venues.
October 4th's stellar lineup features acclaimed artists:
Cindy Blackman Santana - Jazz fusion drum master – known from the bands of Carlos Santana and Lenny Kravitz – makes her long-overdue San Diego debut as the leader of her powerhouse quintet
Magos Herrera “Aire” – Acclaimed Mexico City vocalist Magos Herrera with her NYC-based quartet, joined by San Diego’s Hausmann String Quartet, in a soaring celebration of Latin classics and originals
Gilbert Castellanos – San Diego Jazz Hero leads an all-star ensemble featuring Rolling Stones saxophonist Karl Denson and Dizzy Gillespie drummer Ignacio Berroa in a high-energy program of Latin and mainstream jazz classics
Gerald Clayton – One of this generation’s acknowledged jazz piano greats presents the premiere of his own special tribute to original jazz composer, Jelly Roll Morton
