.Learn to sculpt from life! In these once-off taster sessions, you will have the opportunity to sculpt a figurative object from a live model in studio. Participants will sculpt from a life model, developing skills and techniques in hand building from observation, then leave the works to be dried and fired for later collection
This will be a skill building workshop through observational studies of the human form, learning techniques and tips on how best to produce lifelike representations whilst developing your own unique style and approach.
(The model will be nude so this class will be for 18 years and over only)
Tara McGinn is a visual artist and writer from Enniscorthy, now based in Belfast. They make multimedia sculpture, installations and images for exhibitions, recent shows include Mother Tongue at the MAC Belfast and Held at Mimosa Gallery London. They graduated from the MFA in Ulster University in 2019, is a former Catalyst Arts Co-Director and continues their studio practice at Flax studios on Bedford Street.
