About this event:
The Prosthetic Sculptor’s chief role is to serve as artistic translator, converting a 2D design into a 3D version for production to determine final artistic and technical directions for a character for film, television, animatronic and related industries. Learn to work with a team, understand the necessities of the project and the Special Makeup FX Lab in relation to the individual design, understand the prosthetic skin material limitations and unique properties in relation to movement and be flexible regarding their creation’s design approval. Each student will create a prosthetic sculpture on a pre-existing ¾ lifecast of a model and learn about many various options regarding clay material, sculpture techniques and tools, natural effects of gravity and anatomy and final polish and finish work.
If you need LMA to create a lifecast for you, email [email protected] to schedule an appointment with your model for $150 for material/labor (paid separately).
