SCROOGE Character Descriptions
ADULT ROLES:
SCROOGE The Musical requires a large cast made up of all ages. There are roles for children through older adults. There are many minor characters throughout the show which will be cast from the ensemble. Final cast members will be able to learn and sing choral music as well as perform basic stage choreography. British accents will be used for spoken dialogue.

Throughout the story he must journey through the past/present/ and future to regain the spirit of charity and kindness he once had as a young man. This performer will sing many BARITONE solos.
BOB CRATCHIT---Bob is the hardworking clerk in Scrooge’s office. He is dedicated to his young family, especially his disabled son Tiny Tim. Bob is kind and loving in the face of his employer’s evil temper and meanness. Bob is in his 20s-30s. He sings BARITONE/TENOR solos and solo lines.
ETHEL CRATCHIT---Bob’s wife and the mother of his five children. 20-30s. ENSEMBLE vocals.
HARRY/YOUNG SCROOGE---Harry is Scrooge’s warm, compassionate nephew. He loves his uncle and feels obligated to him. Harry is in his 20s-30s. This actor will also portray the younger version of Scrooge. He sings BARITONE-TENOR solo lines and dances.

Auditions will consist of two parts:
VOCAL AUDITIONS---Please prepare a short vocal audition which showcases the best qualities of your voice. A good rule-of-thumb is to prepare one verse and one chorus. Please bring your own sheet music. An accompanist will be present. You may also bring your own recorded accompaniment, and we will have a Bluetooth speaker available.
COLD READINGS---Be prepared to read/perform brief, pre-selected scenes from the script. Again, brush up on your British/Cockney accents. This story takes place in 19th Century London.
*Rehearsals will begin the week of October 21st.
