About this Event
The Scriptural Reasoning Series with Atlantic Institute – Special Ramadan Gathering
Join us for a meaningful interfaith journey in the Scriptural Reasoning series! This distinctive practice brings people from diverse faiths together to read, reflect on, and discuss sacred texts—not to reach agreement, but to explore interpretations across traditions. It's an opportunity to "disagree better," build mutual respect, and deepen understanding of one another's scriptures and beliefs.
As we gather during the holy month of Ramadan—a time of fasting, reflection, compassion, and community—we warmly invite everyone to experience an authentic iftar dinner (the traditional breaking of the fast at sunset). This shared meal offers non-Muslims a beautiful way to participate in and appreciate this cherished Ramadan tradition.
Event Highlights:
- Topic: "Encountering God"
- Moderator: Rev. Dr. Jonathan Swanson, Hodges Boulevard Presbyterian Church
- Engage in genuine, respectful dialogue: Scriptural Reasoning allows committed individuals from different faiths to explore texts while honoring each tradition's particularity—strengthening your own faith while connecting with others.
- This marks our 13th gathering in the series, continuing to foster bonds across faith communities and enrich personal engagement with sacred scriptures.
Fasting is not required to attend—everyone is welcome to join the conversation and the meal. We are honored to host you during this special season of spiritual renewal!
