Our 2025 Script in Hand series continues with πππ§ππ¨Emmie is one of the only Black people living in Paris, Vermont, and she desperately needs a job. When she is hired at Berryβs, a store off the interstate selling everything from baby carrots to lawnmowers, she begins to understand a new kind of isolation. Paris is a play about invisibility, being underpaid, and how it feels to work on your feet for ten hours a day.

ABOUT SCRIPT IN HAND PLAYREADINGS
Every Script in Hand playreading is a brand new experience.
At a Script in Hand playreading, thereβs nothing between you and the actors on stage. These readings bring actors whoβve just met β or whoβve known each other for years β together for one day to rehearse and perform a play on a bare stage, with simple lighting β and you. The audience is in charge of conjuring the set, costumes, and atmosphere β or nothing at all. Actors, audience, and the director come together to create a special, one-night-only experience.
