SCREENSAVER have been on tour around Aus to celebrate the release of their sophomore record ‘Decent Shapes’ and are bloody excited to play Adelaide for the first time, and it’s the last stop on the tour, so things are sure to blast right off with their final show at The Hotel Metropolitan. SCREENSAVER balance frenetic energy with unsettling tonalities to create a rhythmic gloom that rides the new-wave to the synth-punk. Following up on their 2021 debut ‘Expressions Of Interest’, screensaver return with ‘Decent Shapes’, a ten track voyage through a tense sonic landscape that is equal parts dark, moody, and immersive. SCREENSAVER summon the intensity, edginess and danceability of classic post-punk/new-wave era bands, blend those elements together and mutate them into a sound that is undeniably electric. The band are embarking on their first official and extensive tour of Aus, with support from their labels Poison City Records and Upset The Rhythm.

THE CONDOS:
Formed in Adelaide, The Condos have released two excellent EP’s - a self titled release in 2019, and its follow-up ‘Attachment’ in 2021. The Condos combine heavy drum machine rhythms, layers of dark and broody basslines, synths, and haunted vocals to create a hypnotic gothic dancefloor. Captivating and intense, with elements of cold-wave and darkwave, The Condos could be Australia’s answer to classic bands like Asylum Party and Iron Curtain.

LOTHARIO:
Lothario is the razor edged, bedroom produced project of Naarm’s Annaliese Redlich Feat New Orleans punk hero Rob Craig (Buck Biloxi) on drums. Lothario is all late night fuck and fight. Punk rock for the bored, horney and dumb. Love songs for losers. LOTHARIO’s songs feature raw, distorted vocals, crunchy driving percussion and strangled gritty guitars. Spirited and reflective of that true DIY punk ethos, LOTHARIO is an absolute force to behold. Her ripper 7” release ‘Drunk Fuck/Black Hair’ in June 2023 has already cemented itself as a classic, and in late 2023 embarked on her first US tour blasting away at sold-out shows in Austin, Chicago and New York. LOTHARIO will be joined by members of screensaver on the night for a few select songs!

HAGOL:
Furious anti-fascist punks, they might only be a three-piece but they can still fill the room with their raw keyboard infused punk sound. Their recent 7” ‘ 진공’ absolutely rips and is best described as: “6 tracks of face rocking, nana loving, jerk destroying, queer, pinko, cat punk.”

ABOUT THE VENUE:
Located on Grote Street, the Metropolitan is in the centre of Adelaide next to Her Majesty’s Theatre and opposite Adelaide Central Markets. Renovations have left the hotel with a traditional pub feel in a contemporary setting offering food, gaming, accommodation and live music.
