Draw inspiration from the exhibition and learn the process of multi colour screenprinting in this hands-on workshop with artist, Francis Kenna. Participants will be introduced to a playful and experimental approach to working with colour and screenprinting techniques, with the opportunity to create their own multicolour screenprints inspired by the work of Josef and Anni Albers.The workshop is suitable for participants 16 years and over, and no previous printmaking experience is required. Registration includes all workshop materials.
Workshop participants are also invited to join exhibition curator, Imogen Dixon-Smith (Kenneth E. Tyler Curator, International Prints and Drawing) and workshop tutor, Francis Kenna at the Gallery on Friday 19 July for a tour of the exhibition focused on the printmaking materials and techniques used by Josef and Anni Albers to create their works.
Francis Kenna is a Kamberri/Canberra based artist whose spatial practice spans installation, sculpture and printmedia. Kenna’s practice is an ongoing investigation of perception and our engagement with the world around us.
Anni and Josef Albers is on display in Gallery 15 from the 8 Jun – 22 Sep 2024.
