Set against the lush and vibrant backdrop of rural Jamaica, When Morning Comes is a poignant coming-of-age drama about sacrifice and the definition of home. The film follows Jamal, a precocious nine-year-old boy whose carefree life is upended when his widowed mother decides to send him to Canada for a better future. Unwilling to leave the only world he knows, Jamal spends his final days orchestrating a plan to stay, visiting friends, family, and his father’s grave one last time.
