About this Event
Join us at the SLBI for a screening of Matthew Gandy’s “Natura Urbana: The Brachen of Berlin” as part of our mini-festival on urban flora.
The Brachen of Berlin tells the story of post-war Berlin through its wild plants. In this documentary the changing vegetation of Berlin serves as a parallel history of the city, its history, politics and its future. It takes us on a unique journey through Berlin ranging from the botanical microcosm of cracked paving stones to elaborate attempts to map the entire city in terms of its distinctive ecological zones.
